To apply for a resident representative position on a Texas Medical Association board, council, or committee, complete this application by April 15.
Appointments last one year, and you must re-apply if you wish to continue serving in the position.
A TEXPAC appointment requires TEXPAC membership ($40 for residents).
Responsibilities of Resident Representatives/Alternates to TMA Boards, Councils, and Committees
1. Resident representatives/alternates are required to attend all regular meetings of the board, council or committee to which they are appointed. Most meet virtually and in person throughout the year. The TMA staff contact will send you additional information regarding your meeting schedule and agendas.
2. Resident representatives/alternates are asked to review the agenda sent prior to the meeting to be prepared to discuss the items and actively participate in the meeting.
3. Resident representative are full voting members. Therefore, it is important for the resident to fully exercise that opportunity and for the alternate representative to be present to fill in during an absence and/or aid the representative on how best to speak in the interest of residents and fellows.
4. The boards, councils, and committees depend on your participation and attendance to reach a quorum. Therefore, we ask that you attend at minimum, two of the three meetings during your appointment year.
