All nominees for the Texas Medical Association’s International Medical Graduate Section (IMG) Outstanding Physician Award should be a TMA-IMG member physician who has provided outstanding volunteer service, outside of their practice, to the medical community for which they live and/or work.
The following criteria are required in order to qualify for this award:
-- The physician nominee must be a TMA member;
-- The physician nominee must be a graduate of an international medical school;
-- Volunteer service must have taken place during the calendar year prior to the application deadline; and
-- Volunteer service must demonstrate a passion for the community in which the physician lives and/or works, outside of their professional practice.
Nominations are accepted through Feb. 15. The TMA-IMG Section Executive Council will consider all nominees and select the award recipient during their first meeting of the year. The award will be presented during the section meeting at TexMed and the honoree will be recognized from the dais during the HOD general session meeting.
